The city of Maize is a special place.

We’re proud of our excellent schools, neighborhood involvement and the feeling we have of a secure environment in which to live, work and play. Maize is a rural area, yet close to metropolitan amenities. Most important, Maize is a city where community counts.  

Annual Community Events         

Arbor Day Celebration – Held annually in April, tree planting is a highlight of this event. The Maize Tree Board provides area citizens with valuable information regarding care of trees and other plant life.

Fourth of July Celebration - The annual 4th of July Celebration includes a spectacular fireworks display that provides about 45 minutes of non-stop “ooh-ing and
ahh-ing.”

Fall Festival – This  yearly, fun-filled October event includes a pancake breakfast, arts & crafts, games, food booths, carnival rides, the Lil' Miss Maize Pageant, a car show, a parade, a talent show, and last but not least – a kick up your heels dance!
